Meet alegna creates, a resilient and fiercely creative African American woman in her 50s who wears many hats with grace and grit. A self-taught freelance graphic designer and small business owner with over 15 years of experience, she’s built a career on passion, perseverance, and pixels—crafting bold visuals that tell rich, meaningful stories.
By day, she navigates the daily grind of a 9 to 5, and by night (and weekends), she pours her heart into client work and building her own brand from the ground up while also juggling working part-tiime. As a cancer survivor, her journey is marked by strength, healing, and a deep sense of purpose. Life hasn’t always played fair—she knows firsthand the hustle it takes to make ends meet while trying to thrive in the tight squeeze of middle-class poverty (with humor) while nurturing your passions.
Her designs reflect her journey: vibrant, layered, soulful, and unapologetically Black. Through it all, she remains a creative force—fueling her vision with every challenge overcome and every story she brings to life on screen or in print. She’s proof that talent, tenacity, and a little bit of faith can take you further than the world expects.
She is also the passionate force behind connected woman MAGAZINE — an online blog-style magazine dedicated to amplifying the stories, achievements, and dreams of diverse women from all walks of life. As founder and editor-in-chief, she’s made it her mission to cultivate a vibrant digital space where women uplift each other, celebrate their wins, and show up boldly in their purpose.
With a deep belief in the power of sisterhood, alegna creates curates inspiring interviews, thought-provoking essays, and empowering features that spotlight women changemakers — from creatives and entrepreneurs to activists and everyday heroes.
